Harry Potter Inspired Wedding

I recently attended a friend’s wedding that had different Harry Potter inspired elements. I thought it would be fun to share them with you guys.

So for one, their colors were red and blue, which I believe is because they are a Gryffindor and a Ravenclaw. So you saw that a lot throughout the venue.

It’s not something I could have taken a picture of, but my friend walked down the aisle to Hedwig’s Theme.

Their cake topper was a cute piece that said “Mischeif Managed”.

And their wedding favors were Ferrero Rochers with paper wings, to look like a snitch. The wings included the wedding date.

Overall, I think the Harry Potter touches were very tastefully done, and were very reflective of the couple. I wish them all the best! ❤

What book would you theme a wedding around?

Cross Stitch Patterns for Book Lovers

I haven’t cross-stitched in a while, but after wandering around Etsy and Pinterest, I’m certainly motivated to pick it up again!

As of writing this post, I have pinned 70 different cross stitch patterns. If you want to see the board, pictures and all, you can check it out by clicking on the screenshot below. Otherwise, I will list each cross stitch by the book (or series) it comes from, and link them. All of the links worked when I pinned them, but unfortunately some may just be inspiration at this point.

Book Review: Si Un Brontosauria by Katherine Mead (Brontosaurus Came to Tea)

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Summary

This picture book shows a character preparing for different dinosaurs to come to tea. He makes sure to set out each of their favorite foods. It is written in a cute rhyming fashion.

What I Liked

  • It is just plain adorable
  • Dinosaurs
  • Great for learning new Spanish words!

What I Didn’t Like

  • The illustrations where a little dark (color-wise) to be honest, but very reflective of illustrations back in my childhood I believe.

In Conclusion

If you or your child loves dinosaurs, then pick up this book. If you are learning a new language and want to learn dinosaur vocabulary, pick up this book in the new language.

Book Review: Ms. Marvel Volume 3: Crushed by G. Willow Wilson

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Book 3 in the Ms. Marvel Collected Editions

Summary

Ms. Marvel crashes a Valentine’s dance as she faces a new villain – Loki. On top of that, she’s facing a little romance of her own!

What I Liked

  • They called Loki a “hipster viking”. Lol.
  • Finally! A love interest! I was very excited when he entered the scene.
  • The book was quite unpredictable, in a good way. I never quite new what was coming!

What I Didn’t Like

  • There were more returning characters (from other comics) in this edition, which is great for comic fans, but a little more confusing for those of us trying to be a comic fan.

In Conclusion

Yet another great edition to the Ms. Marvel series.
